ADDING S2S OPPORTUNITIES WITH MANDATORY UNAVAILABLE FORMS

You are now able to add a System-to-System opportunity that has mandatory unavailable forms to a proposal development document without having to add the mandatory unavailable forms in advance. After the opportunity has been added, you will receive the following warning message:

“Kuali Research is unable to transmit this proposal to Grants.gov since some of the required forms are not available. To submit via S2S, use the User Attached Forms panel to upload the missing mandatory forms prior to connecting to the opportunity.”

This message is informing you that you must attach the mandatory unavailable forms to the User Attached Forms tab in order to submit to Grants.gov. Consistent with MSU practice, mandatory UAFs must be attached prior to routing the PD document, and they may be swapped out during the routing process.

To remove the warning you can click Save or click the X in the upper right hand corner of the message.

FY 22/23 FRINGE BENEFT RATES ARE NOW IN KR

Yesterday mid-afternoon, 7/7/22, the fringe benefit rates for FY22/23 were added to Kuali Research. This change was to adjust the following:

• Update the graduate student health rates
• Update the FICA salary cap
• Update the overall budget inflation factor form 2% to 3%

As a reminder, the health portion of the fringe benefit rates for faculty, staff and research associates was adjusted when we went live with Kuali Research on April 25th. The SPA/OSP/CGA Fringe Benefits webpage has been updated with the FY22/23 rates. The annual fringe benefit memo will be sent on the SPA/OSP/CGA listserv next week.

To sync the rates in your KR budget, we recommend that you click the Sync All Rates button at the top of the Rates option.
