PERFORMANCE ISSUES

Recently, you may have noticed performance issues in Kuali Research (e.g. slow processing or the spinning wheel). We think we may have identified the issue and believe it is related to Medusa. In particular, when a project has many PDs/IPs/Awards linked in Medusa, the system is getting bogged down trying to pull the information into the Medusa screen. The KR team is working hard at trying to correct these issues, but in the meantime, we would like to ask you to please avoid clicking Medusa for projects where you know there are a significant amount of PDs/IPs/Awards linked (a good guide is anything over 15 - Research Gifts and RG Accounts are prime candidates for this). Also, if you click Medusa and after 15 seconds the information doesn't load, please close out of the Medusa screen and DO NOT try to go back into Medusa.

The KR Team will continue to look into the performance issues and make sure there aren;t other things contributing to the issue. Please continue to contact the KR Help Desk if you experience issues.

OTHER DIRECT COSTS NOW DISPLAY ON THE R&R BUDGET FORM

The Other Direct Costs amount (i.e. line F.8) is now displaying on the R&R detailed budget form within KR. Previously the amount was not displaying on the printed forms (using the Create PDF button) in KR, however, the amount was included on the forms sent to Grants.gov and was displaying appropriately on the form received by the federal agencies.

GRAD STUDENT FRINGE IS MAPPING CORRECTLY TO THE R&R BUDGET FORM

Previously we reported (Issue #66) that when different object codes were used to budget graduate students, that the grad student fringe benefits may not map correctly to the S2S budget form. This issue has been fixed. Please contact the KR Help Desk if you continue to see issues with costs mapping to the S2S budget forms.

COI DISCLOSURE INFORMATION IS NOW IN PD/IP/AWARD MODULES

The COI Disclosure Information table in the PD, IP and Award modules is now updating with the appropriate disclosure information. In the PD, the COI Disclosure Information table is located in the COI Disclosure sub option. In the IP and Award modules, the table is on the Supplemental Information tab.
