Research Security Training Completion Dates are in KR

The COI Disclosure Information table has been updated to add a [ Research Security Training Date ] column. This column will reflect the date an individual completed the two required courses that are part of Research Security Training in the Ability Learning Management System. If an individual has completed the required courses more than once, the system will display the latest date of completion. If an individual has not completed the training, the field will be blank.

Updates to the Standard Questionnaire in Proposal Development

On Thursday, May 8th, the following updates will be made to the Standard Proposal Questionnaire in Proposal Development:

  • The current question: Does the project involve recombinant DNA?, will be replaced with: Does the project involve recombinant or synthetic DNA or genetic engineering/molecular biology experiments?
  • The current question: Does the project involve pathogens/biohazards?, will be replaced with: Does the project involve human, animal or plant pathogens; human cell lines or other biohazards?
  • The following question will be added: Will you be using uncrewed aerial vehicles (UAV) or uncrewed submersible vehicles (USV) (commonly known as drones) for this project?
  • Updating outdated web links in the More Information sections.
  • Fixing a branching issue related to human subjects research.

How do I incorporate the updated questionaire?

As of May 9th, PDs with an In-Progress or Revisions Requested status will have an Update Available button at the top of the Standard Proposal Questionnaire.

  • For in-progress proposals, please click the Update Available button to bring in the new questionnaire and answer the additional questions before routing the PD. The two questions that are changing will need to be re-answered after the questionnaire is updated.
  • For proposals that are recalled/returned out of route to make proposal corrections, you do not have to update the questionnaire.
  • PD’s created May 9th and beyond will automatically bring in the updated questionnaire (this does not include copied PDs – see below).

Once you click the Update Available button a popup window will appear asking if you’d like to copy over the answers from the old version of the questionnaire, or not. Select the choice you would like to make and click the Ok button.

What happens with copied proposals?

Copies of proposals that were created before May 9th will bring over an old version of the questionnaire. Click the Update Available button at the top of the Standard Proposal Questionnaire to bring the new version of the questionnaire into the copied proposal.
