Updated Functionality for the Subaward Question in Proposal Development (PD)

The “Does this proposal include subaward(s)?” question in the Proposal Development (PD) module of Kuali Research has been updated. For PD documents initiated 10/31/25 and going forward, it will no longer default to “No”. Instead, it will default to “Select,” requiring users to choose either “Yes” or “No.” If a selection is not made, an error will appear when data validations are turned on, and the PD cannot be routed until the question is answered. This change is intended to improve the accuracy of the data collected.

Contacts Added for Henry Ford Health Grant Managers

A new table has been added to the Institutional Proposal (IP) and Award modules in Kuali Research to identify which grant managers are affiliated with the Henry Ford Health (HFH) department listed in the IP/Award document. At the Just-In-Time and award receipt stages, the Office of Sponsored Programs will use this table to determine which grant managers to include on emails.

The table appears under the Collaborator Contacts section on the Supplemental Info tab in both modules. It will display automatically for proposals submitted after October 1, 2025. For earlier proposals, click the green arrow button to populate the table.

To add or remove an administrative contact, email the KR Helpdesk.

Note: HFH individuals must have an MSU FPID to be added to the table.
